This 4 game series between the Atlanta Braves and the Arizona Diamondbacks has not been disappointing as far as offense goes. This game went to extra innings, 11 innings to be exact. In the bottom of the 11th, Brandon Drury of the Diamondbacks got the sacrifice hit that gave his team the win.
The Diamondbacks hit very well as a team again last night. Not to be outdone, the Braves hitters did not falter either. Former Braves Center Fielder Micael Borne had a big night at the plate for the Diamondbacks going 4 for 6, scoring 3 runs. Borne also had 2 triples as well. Paul Goldschmidt of the Diamondbacks had another huge night for his team. He was 3 for 6 with a HR driving in 2 RBIs. Wellington Castillo, the catcher for the D’Backs went 2 for 6 with 3 RBIs, including a double. Jake Lamb, the 3rd baseman for the D’Backs, also went 3 for 6 at the plate, knocking in 2 more RBIs.
The Braves bats were also hitting the ball well. Ender Inciatre went 4 for 7 at the plate with 2 RBIs. Adonis Garcia was 1 for 6 with a HR and 1 RBI. Nick Markakis, who loves hitting inArizona odviously, was 3 for 5 with 2 RBIs. Tyler Flowers went 3 for 4 with a pair of RBIs. Jace Peterson was 1 for 2 with 2 RBIs. Finally , Chase D’Arnaud was 0 for 4 hitting however thanks to sacrifice hits, had 2 RBIs. Julio Teheran pitched 6 innings allowing 6 Earned Runs to the D’Backs. Jose Ramirez in the bottom of the 11th inning allowed the final score the Arizona as they win the game 10-9.
The final game of the series will be played tonight with first pitch at 9:40pm in Arizona, Phoenix to be exact. If I were a betting man, which I am not, I would double down on one last offensive show!
