The Atlanta Braves lost in this early afternoon’s ball game, it was a close game for awhile. But in the end, the San Fransico Giants defeated the Braves 13-4. The game was a lot of fun to watch until the bottom of the 7th inning when the Giants scored 8 runs.
The Braves had battled back from a 5-1 deficit early in the game. Freddie Freeman continued his red hot hitting streak with a 2 run home run. Aaron Blair was on the mound for the Braves but he gave up 6 earned runs and in the end he also had the loss. Matt Kemp had a sacrifice fly ball and in the 9th inning Gordon Beckman also homered for the Braves. It is nice to see the Braves offense scoring a lot of runs and never giving up despite what the score is. This is just a sample of what the 2017 season holds for the Braves.
The Giants had a huge night at the plate. Joe Panik had 2 home runs and 4 RBIs at the plate in an offensive explosion. Jarrett Parker had 3 RBIs with a triple. Gorkys Hernandez also knocked in 2 RBIs. Denard Span also contributed with an RBI. Brandon Crawford, Brandon Belt, and Eduardo Nunuz each also drove in a run. Tonight was the Giants turn to prove what a dynamic offense they have.
As they makes their push for the post season, the Giants are in search for either the National League West title or one of the two Wild Card spots available. It looks like there is going to be a tight race in the NL West between the Giants and the Los Angeles Dodgers. There is still over a month of regular season baseball left. The Braves are not in the running for the post season in 2016 but they can still play spoiler and showcase their talented roster. Now it’s time to go to home to Atlanta, as they prepare for the San Diego Padres in tomorrow tonight’s ball game. Go Braves!
